Ginger Julep

DIFFICULTY:

Here’s a great ginger julep. Bourbon and Big O are best friends. Add fresh mint and you have a dangerously smooth refresher.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz Big O Ginger Liqueur
  • 1½ oz quality bourbon
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • 3 mint sprigs
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Instructions

  1. Slap leaves of 2 mint sprigs.
  2. Place in mixing tin with simple syrup.
  3. Lightly press mint with muddler.
  4. Add Big O, bourbon and bitters.
  5. Vigorously shake and strain over ice into a half sugar-rim old fashion glass.
  6. Garnish with remaining mint sprig.
