Chicago Blues

DIFFICULTY:

When we heard that Buddy Guy (one of our favorite Blues Gurus) in Chicago preferred cognac, we set about developing a series of cognac-based cocktails in his honor. This year-round favorite is cooling, citrusy, and tickles your nose with bubbles compliments of a nice Prosecco.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz Big O Ginger Liqueur
  • 1 oz cognac
  • 2 long strips orange zest (pith removed)
  • 1 long strip cucumber peel
  • Prosecco

Instructions

  1. Lightly press 1 orange zest and the cucumber peel in a large wine glass.
  2. Stir Big O and cognac with ice in a mixing glass; strain into the wine glass.
  3. Top with Prosecco.
  4. Garnish with remaining orange zest or a strip of candied ginger.
