Original Sin


This “sour” is another great use of Big O and rye whiskey. The lemon and apple cider, as well as the bitters, lend it a freshness and complexity that is seductive.



  • 1½ oz rye
  • ¾ oz Big O Ginger Liqueur
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 3 dashes Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas’ Own Decanter Bitters


  1. Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker.
  2. Shake to chill.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with an apple fan and mint sprig.
  5. Grate fresh cinnamon on top.
