It’s winter. It’s cold. We want a boozy cocktail that is simple to make, but not simple on the palate. This cocktail is a perfect solution: aquavit, Big O, and bourbon give you a Sazerac-esque start that’s refined and brightened by the addition of the lemon. It’s an upscale version of the whiskey sour that’ll scare away the winter blues.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1¼ oz aquavit
  • ¾ oz Big O Ginger Liqueur
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz bourbon

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients over ice and shake.
  2. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  3. Perfume glass with lemon zest.
  4. Add a skewered cherry.
